The project explored the relationship between landscape structure and biodiversity, with a focus on agricultural habitats and bird diversity. Our company developed a methodological framework to calculate and interpret landscape metrics as tools for assessing habitat quality.
The project was structured in three phases: preparation (literature review, species selection, algorithm specification), analysis (landscape metric computation and evaluation), and synthesis (recommendations for biodiversity conservation in agricultural areas). Key metrics such as patch size, edge density, and habitat diversity indices were calculated to identify areas of high conservation value.
Findings support the development of policy instruments for biodiversity-friendly agriculture.
