Client: University North, Agro-KapS project - Agro Capsules for improving the properties of reinforced concrete buildings | 2024
SCIOM provided specialised research services aimed at evaluating the survival and viability of four bacterial strains in highly alkaline environments (pH 11–13), simulating the conditions found in concrete.
Following the delivery of bacterial strains by the client, SCIOM conducted a series of laboratory tests to assess the resilience of each strain under these extreme pH conditions. Based on the results, the most promising strain was selected for further upscaling, culminating in the successful preparation of a 20-litre bacterial solution for use in further experimental applications within the project.
